Course modules: below is an overview and the precise information may change on the live course.

  • Day 1 - Introduction to Performance Coaching

In this workshop we outline what is ‘coaching’ and how it differs from managing, consulting, and instructing. We look at how to professionalise your interactions with others to gain a better result from your communications.

We examine some key performance coaching skills so that you leave with practical learnings and applications to help your team immediately. We take a look at what 'Flow Leadership' means, how to shift mindsets, create an optimal level of challenge, and how to increase motivations.

We end with practical hands-on scenarios to integrate the days teachings.

  • Day 2 - Core Coaching Skills

We will delve into active listening skills and unpack a variety of ways to listen to both the content and the deeper meanings people portray with their words. We outline how non-verbal communication is a central aspect to effective listening. You will practice a variety of listening methods.

Powerful questioning is a real art-form that requires several skills. We examine how questioning may differ in different contexts and how we can be challenging, supportive, explorative, leading, and insightful through questioning. You will be able to trial different questioning techniques and refine your questioning skills.

Managing the coaching relationship is essential; we outline what this means and the principles that underpin a successful coaching relationship. We study how to build trust and competence in the relationship to create safe and impactful interactions. We cover several aspects such as group coaching, true learning, absorbing and giving feedback.

  • Day 3 - Optimal Performance

Day three examines the latest science and practice surrounding peak performance. We delve into self-leadership, self-regulation, and self-actualisation.

We unravel in detail how to use the Flow Model, what it means, and why it is important. We look at how people have used it in different settings and how it can become a treasured self-assessment tool. We look at how mastery, purpose, resilience, autonomy, focused attention, and self-trust are central to high performance.

We examine some of the neuroscience and psychology surrounding the brain and behaviour. We uncover how to encompass embodied cognition in your practice and how to utilise fundamental understandings of how we are wired to act and behave.

  • Day 4 - High Performing Teams

We examine high-performance cultures and what are the core values, benchmarks, and focal points a leader needs to manage in order to ensure a high-performing culture and team.

We examine the 29 aspects that create high-performing teams and breakdown over 30 years of research into a single page takeaway that can act as a blueprint for engineering optimal functioning teams.

  • Day 5 - Integrating the skills of a Performance Coach

The last day is dedicated to managing real-life scenarios and pressure testing ideas. We work with real examples in the group and demonstrate how a performance coach would deal with the situation whilst empowering the individuals. We look at stress, conflict, low motivation, power plays, and many differing examples to see how performance coaching can help your team in a range of situations.

Time is dedicated towards an open forum for questions and answers.
